Grazing Italy – Matthew Dempsey

Matthew Dempsey was the 2009 Electrolux Young Chef Winner.
Matt is off to London and Italy via Bangkok! Travelling with Qantas, he will be stopping off in Bangkok where he will be partaking in work experience with Australian Michelin star chef, David Thompson at his new restaurant. Then Matt flies with Alice to Venice Italy where he is representing Australia in the S.Pellegrino cooking cup cooking against chefs from around the world on a yacht!
Montalto ‘Going Green’ – Alice Heath

Alice Heath was the 2009 Electrolux Young Waiter Winner. She is currently working at Montalto Vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. This year Alice will be going travelling with Qantas to London and Venice via Bangkok for part of her prize. In Bangkok she and Matt Dempsey will be assisting Michelin star Australian chef, David Thompson with opening his new restaurant for a few weeks. Then Alice is off to Italy to visit to the source of two of the world’s most renowned mineral waters - S.Pellegrino located in the Italian Alps and Acqua Panna positioned in the hills of Tuscany!
Being in hospitality means that summer is not a time for me to relax, with my work place Montalto a hive of activity. Summer is peak time for us down on the peninsula people are out and about enjoying the beautiful coasts and beaches, wineries, bushland reserves, boutique shops and restaurants.
While it is busy for those of us that are working, there is a great atmosphere about as people are able to take a break from their hectic work schedules and take time out to relax, take in the scenery and enjoy each other’s company.
